SEVIERVILLE — On Sept. 25, Elizabeth Essary with LeConte Medical Center’s Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation was the guest speaker for Gamma Nu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

SEVIERVILLE â As promised, the Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation isnât going anywhere, but the board of directors announced this week that the foundation is joining Covenant Health as a wholly owned affiliate and part of the Office of Philanthropy, the fundraising arm of the health system.
Dr. Jama Spicer Sutton, chair of the Thomas Foundation board of directors, said the decision will benefit fundraising efforts.
âThe health care industry has changed dramatically since the foundation was founded, and the last year of pandemic-related challenges has made fund raising both more difficult and more crucial,â Sutton said.
