full of emotion eight months after four americans were killed in benghazi. i got the ambassador on the other end and he said, greg, we re understand attack. and it was also a bad cell phone night in tripoli. connections were weak. but i said, okay. and the line cut. emotional testimony from gregory hicks who served as deputy to ambassador stevens and in libya the night of benghazi attack. at 3:00 a.m., i received a call from the prime minister of libya. i think it s the saddest phone call i ve ever had in my life. he told me that ambassador stevens had passed away. hicks also spoke with the special forces troops prepared to travel from tripoli to benghazi when they were stopped much to their frustration. how did the personnel react at being told to stand down? they were furious. i can only say well, i won t quote lieutenant colonel gibson. he said it was the first time in my career that a diplomat has more balls than somebody in the military. rick: lawmakers a
early 1950s. the commute from marin county into san francisco could be slower than normal again this morning. kpix 5 reporter anne makovec is at the golden gate bridge with an update on this messy pavement problem. reporter: good morning. you just heard it from elizabeth. the lanes are expected to open around 5:00 this morning. if not 5:00, by 6:00. one lane open on each direction of the golden gate bridge. and we ll see how the new paving is working out. they are doing a new approach, different than over the last 24 hours that caused them problems on the paving work done overnight monday. the asphalt unraveled because of the way it was set. it was papered so that it would be a smoother drive. and then it began to break up and sent pieces of rock everywhere during the morning commute. then yesterday afternoon bridge officials partially shut down the freeway so a sweeper could clean up the mess. but it was a roadway hazard. the unraveling asphalt was in chunks. it was fl

and he gave him a card. if he pulls this out tonight, it s because he has done it on a retail political level voter by voter, and he has a series of campaign stops later on today. about ten or so before the polls close later on this evening. we ll be watching as the returns come in. elizabeth colbert bush. i just wonder the polls show them neck and neck. any prediction? anybody making predictions there? too close to call? . it is way too close to call, and i have been talking to, you know, even the people who are so-called political experts here in charleston and this first congressional district, they are not making any predictions. elizabeth colbert bush, the sister of comedian steven colbert. there were polls indicating she might walk away with this, but it was interesting to see sanford do this. he waged a battle on two fronts. with the national media he would talk about how he has asked for
