Vice-Chairman of HCM City People s Committee Le Hoa Binh on Friday met with Dutch Ambassador to Vietnam, Elizabeth Akkerman, to discuss co-operation over sustainable flood prevention planning for Thu Duc City.
According to Binh, in May 2019, a delegation of HCM City People s Committee visited the Netherlands and gained new insights into flood prevention. HCM City and the Netherlands have previously signed several memorandums about flood prevention and clean water supply so he called for the Netherlands support in fighting flood and climate change in Thu Duc.
Netherlands promises to help Thu Duc City handle urban flooding

The Dutch government will support HCMC and its newly created Thu Duc City with urban development, including flood mitigation.
At a meeting with Dutch diplomats in Vietnam, deputy chairman of Ho Chi Minh City, Le Hoa Binh, said he hoped the Netherlands will help Thu Duc City deal with urban flooding and make it a new city that is sustainable and adapts well to climate change.
