Northern Saskatchewan high schoolers collaborate on music video

Posted: Jun 09, 2021 5:46 PM CT | Last Updated: June 9 The music video for the song was filmed at two different high schools.(Brandon White) High school students from the Northern Saskatchewan communities of Stanley Mission and La Ronge have come together to create a song and music video. Lock The Door is the name of the track by collaborative band Capybara Mission , which features students from Churchill Community School in La Ronge and Rhoda Hardlotte Memorial Keethanow High School in Stanley Mission. The idea for the collaboration came after Eliza Doyle, a music teacher in Stanley Mission, came across a call for applications from the Saskatchewan Festival of Words for schools in the north to engage in a lyrical workshop.

Most exciting email I have ever received : More than 85 instruments donated to Sask non-profit

SASKATOON After a an unexpected donation of instruments, Saskatchewan musician Eliza Doyle has more than 85 new reasons to continue with her plans to bring music to people around the province. Earlier this year Doyle started a non-profit art-based program called Community Arts Mentorship Program (CAMP) and thanks to the surprise donation just weeks after finishing the paperwork, her plans for the province got bigger.  “I’ve been doing music programming for the last couple of years, but it was really a push from a friend this summer when he said ‘why don’t you just go out and start your own non-profit?” Doyle said.
