Seniors stake their claims at new archdiocesan housing complex
Frances Fox of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Philadelphia reviews a preliminary application to St. Rita Place, a new affordable senior residence that archdiocesan Catholic Housing and Community Services (CHCS) will open in fall 2021 next to the National Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia in the city s downtown section. CHCS s May 24 sign-ups for St. Rita, which took place at the agency s St. John Neumann II housing complex, drew dozens of interested older adults, many of whom arrived hours ahead of time to secure one of the 46 available spots.
