A full Ironman involves a solid 3.9km swim, followed by 180km of cycling with a marathon (42.2km) kicker to see you over the finish line. Christensen has one pencilled in for August in Copenhagen, and so far, with the help of an Elite Turbo Trainer, a Zwift account and some new HOKA runners, the training is going well. To get him in the right frame of mind for such a challenge, he spoke to two experts in the field; British triathlete Adam Bowden who is also training for his first full Ironman, and Earl Walton, who has the enviable task of being Ironman’s global director of training and coaching.
