The best in boys golf in the River Valley Conference converged on Blue Top Ridge at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort Tuesday for the annual RVC Championship meet. The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks finished seventh of 14 competing teams with their total of 389. West Branch won the team title with a 325. Dominic McCain led Mid-Prairie with a round of 82. The senior finished fourth overall and was named Elite River Valley Conference, he talked with KCII sports after the meet about the day and accomplishment. “I just made putts today. Something I had not done in the past. Making all-conference is something I have been pushing for. Sophomore year I came out here and shot 95 and missed all-conference by five strokes. Then junior year didn’t happen. So this was my last shot to get what I wanted. I came out and did it and shot my best round ever here.”
