Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich announced the members of a new committee tasked with developing a report on safety and mental health in schools.
The Reimagining School Safety and Students’ Well-Being Steering Committee will develop an improvement plan with timelines, financial implications and needs for the program, as well as a communication plan to support implementation.
The committee will provide a preliminary report and recommendations by June 15. A final report will be due by Sept. 30.
“This initiative will help us rethink and reshape our public safety in our schools and provide the best social and mental health support for our students,” Elrich said in a press release on Wednesday.
Two major luxury brands have adopted a fur-free policy
By Imogen Bailey | 1 April 2021
Animal welfare group Four Paws Australia has welcomed the news that international luxury labels Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen have gone fur free.
Alexander McQueen and Balenciaga are the latest Kering-owned brands to announce fur-free policies, and join sister brand Gucci in making the move.
The brands also join the likes of Kathmandu, Prada, Armani and Hugo Boss who have also gone fur-free.
Four Paws Australia head of communications Elise Burgess said that the momentum behind the fur-free movement is growing. Major retailers and brands, both Australian and global alike, are increasingly recognising their responsibility for the welfare of animals, choosing animal-free materials or making demands about animal welfare for their supply chains.
