LOS ANGELES LACDP Elected Member and DSCC Member Elen Asatryan has introduced a resolution, which will be considered at the California Democratic Convention taking place from April 29 through May 2, condemning Turkey and Azerbaijan for the war crimes they committed over the course of 44 days after their attack on the Republic of Artsakh and Armenia, which began on September 27, 2020.
The resolution also urges Congress and the Biden Administration to sanction Turkey and Azerbaijan and demand that Azerbaijani authorities immediately release all Armenian POWS and captured civilians. Furthermore, it also calls on the California Public Employees’ Retirement System and the State Teachers’ Retirement System to take socially responsible steps and divest all public employee retirement funds from investment vehicles issued by Turkey and Azerbaijan until Turkey recognizes the Armenian Genocide of 1915 – 1923, a

SAN ANTONIO Linda Perez found her passion later in life. For the last 15 years, the 76-year-old has visited the Southwest School of Art on a weekly basis. Oh my gosh, it s introduced me to clay, Perez said. It s a wonderful place with a very giving community.
The SSA sculpted her craft. She molds clay into flowerpots, mugs and dinnerware, and she has also dabbled in sculpture.

A 15-year-old boy is charged with killing a young nursing student last winter while she was shopping when he and two others opened fire at an Avalon Park convenience store.
The shooters missed their target, an unarmed man inside the store, and instead struck five innocent bystanders in the Feb. 25 attack, Cook County prosecutors said in court Thursday.
Jaya Beemon, 18, was killed and four others were wounded: an 18-year-old woman, a 17-year-old girl and two men, ages 19 and 63.
The teen, who is not being named because he is charged as a juvenile, faces more than a dozen charges, including murder, attempted murder and aggravated battery with a handgun.
