Dandelions, crabgrass, clover, and nutsedge.

As the temperatures begin to rise, it’s time to put warm-weather vegetables, herbs, and plants in the ground (or containers) so they grow for the season ahead! For crops that mature quickly, like beans, planting seeds will work just fine. But for other plants, like tomatoes, you’ll need to purchase transplants or fruit won’t have time to mature in some regions of the country. All annual flowers can also be planted in June, like perennials, which come back every year around this time, too.

Monstera Deliciosa is the plant for you! Monstera, as it’s often called for short, also goes by the fun name of Swiss cheese plant because of the holes that develop along the leathery leaves as they mature. Originally from the tropics of Mexico and Panama, this plant was first cultivated in 1752.
In the wild, Monstera is a trailing or climbing vine that can grow up to 70 feet. When mature, the leaves can be two or three feet wide! The plant develops fruit that tastes like a mix between a banana, pineapple and a mango. But don’t plan for a harvest just yet; the houseplants almost never bear fruit. Still, it’s a fun plant to add to your collection, and in warm climates (USDA zone 10 or warmer), it can be grown outdoors year-round.
