Five sentenced in 35th District Court

th District Court with Judge Mike Smith presiding: Margaret Marie Harper pled guilty to the felony offense of Intoxication Manslaughter with a Deadly Weapon and was sentenced to 18 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Further, Harper pled guilty to three separate counts of the felony offense of Intoxication Assault with a Deadly Weapon and was sentenced to 10 years Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. David Blake Havens pled guilty to the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Drug Free Zone and was sentenced to 7 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Aaron Jacob Inman pled guilty to felony offense of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Credit Card/Debit Card Abuse and was sentenced to 5 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.

Five Sentenced to Jail Time in District Court

According to District Attorney Micheal Murray, felony cases were recently heard in Brown/Mills County District Court with Judge Mike Smith, presiding. Margaret Marie Harper, pled guilty to the felony offense of Intoxication Manslaughter with Deadly Weapon and was sentenced to Eighteen (18) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Further, Harper, pled guilty to three separate counts of the felony offense of Intoxication Assault with Deadly Weapon and was sentenced to Ten (10) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.  Harper was the drunk driver who drove into a front yard and hit four people, including two children, killing one of them, in late June of 2020.

Brown County Grand Jury returns 35 indictments for January 2021

Special to the Bulletin The January session of the Brown County Grand Jury returned 35 indictments against 25 individuals. District Attorney Michael Murray s office does not release names of defendants who have been indicted but have not yet been arrested because of an indictment being sealed until the time of the arrest. According to Murray s office, defendants in unsealed indictments are:  Ronald Glenn Blasingame, assault family violence occlusion Eric Alan Pargmann, evading arrest Archie Lansford Childress, DWI Nicholas Dwayne Davis, criminal mischief, taking wildlife resources without consent of land owner Stephen Varner, possession of a controlled substance Latasha Lewis AKA Latasha Roberson, forgery
