Gladys Elaine Gowan, who went by Elaine, was an amazing wife, sister, aunt, daughter and mother. Survived by her husband, Harvey; sons Matthew and Josh; plus Claude Massie, or “Buddy,” her brother. Also, Buddy’s wife Karen, Richie’s wife Dodie and Josh’s wife Amy; her sisters- and daughter-in-law; her grandkids Kalvin and Elaina Gowan, whom she adored, had always called her “MawMaw”.
Born November 20th, 1947 to Aaron and Gladys (Rainey) Massie. St. Charles, Missouri is where she grew up. Settling in Bethalto, Illinois, she was happy. She and Harvey married on August 7th, 1971 at Main Street United Methodist Church, in Alton, surrounded by all her loved ones.

Carol J. Williams, 79 of Alton, Il passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 6:40 am at Riverside Rehab and Healthcare. She was born on May 17, 1941, in Alton, IL the daughter of Norman and June O’Donnell Landon.
Carol, Beloved mother to Shirley, Roxanne and Lester Williams II, cherished wife of Lester Williams Sr for over 55 years, he passed on Feb 26, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents, June and Norman Landon. Surviving Shirley (Scott) Schneider, Roxanne (Jim) Neumann, Lester (Jackie) Williams II, Grandchildren James Neumann III, Jessica Neumann, Jenna Neumann, Aaron Schneider, Mark Schneider. Four great grandchildren Waylon Neumann, Dallas Schneider, Evan Hull, Dakota Schneider.

James “Jim” Spillane, 70, of Elsah, IL lost his fight with kidney cancer on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:05 pm.
He was the son of David and Jean Spillane of Godfrey, IL and the older brother of Robert.
They were originally from Connecticut where Jim graduated from Notre Dame High School. He spent 2 years at Northeastern University in Boston and then enlisted in the Army and spent 3 years in Berlin, Germany. After being Honorably discharged, Jim spent 30 years with CVS Health working at stores in Alton, Godfrey, East Alton, and Wood River.
He is survived by his long-time female companion, Tersea Pruitt.

Douglas Henderson passed away on January 15, 2021 at 3:25 pm at Anderson Hospital. He was surrounded by his immediate family.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth Henderson; brother, Kip (Lynda) Henderson; sister, Tonya (Jim) Swank; half-sister and her children, Rebekah Duplechin (Wendell); a half brother and his children, Aaron Pestoff (Priscilla); nephews, Jimmy Swank and Aslan Henderson; nieces, Brittainy Taylor and Nicole Swank (Viv); great niece and nephews, Marlee and James Swank and Railynn and Mason Taylor; five uncles and five aunts; along with numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; and godmother and godfather, Meredith and Don Arnold.
