  The bodies of three mountaineers including Pakistan s climber Muhammad Ali Sadpara were found on K2, the world s second-highest peak, over five months after they went missing. The bodies of 3 lost mountaineers have been found below the Bottleneck on K2. The bodies have been recognised by a rope fixing team, Alpine Club of Pakistan said in a statement on Monday, The Express Tribune reported. Apart from Muhammad Ali Sadpara, the bodies of Iceland s John Snorri and Chile s Juan Pablo Mohr were also found on K2. Dawn reported quoting Alpine Club of Pakistan Secretary Karrar Haideri, that it was very difficult to bring the bodies down from the mountain because of the high altitude, adding that the Army Aviation was helping in this regard.

Daily Times July 27, 2021 Bodies of Pakistani mountaineer Ali Sadpara, Iceland’s John Snorri and Chile’s Juan Pablo Mohr have been found, Gilgit Baltistan Information Minister Fateh Ullah Khan told a private TV channel on Monday. The mountaineers had gone missing on February 5 and were declared dead a few days later after their bodies were not found and the rescue mission was called off. Sajid Sadpara, along with Canadian filmmaker Elia Saikaly and Pasang Kaji Sherpa, is summitting the K2 to find the bodies of his father and his companions Snorri, and Mohr. The team had reached Camp 4 this morning and flew a drone around the area in search of the bodies. Through the drone, the team was able to detect a body above Camp 4 near the bottleneck.

Scottish climber killed in avalanche in Karakoram Range - Pakistan

ISLAMABAD/GILGIT: The world’s second highest peak K2 claimed the life of another climber on Sunday. According to Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) Secretary Karrar Haidri, Scottish mountaineer Rick Allen was attempting to open a new route on the southern face of K2 when he was killed by an avalanche. The 52-year-old climber was part of a three-member team attempting to summit the 8,611 metre peak in the Karakoram Range. “We are waiting for more details to come in. His climbing partners Stephan Keck from Austria and Jordi Tosas of Spain are reportedly safe,” Mr Haidri said. They were rescued by Pakistan Army helicopters and shifted to Skardu.
