Parkhill’s Taya Currie could make OHL history this weekend as being the first girl ever to be drafted by the OHL.
The 16-year old goaltender has been playing with the Triple A boys team for the last 7 years since minor atom in the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs system.
Whether drafted or not this weekend, she has a few roads she can choose including a junior hockey career, or convert to the girls’ game and pursue her goal of being an Olympian.
