SHREVEPORT, La. - Food prices have been rising across the country and now Louisiana lawmakers are attempting to help grocery shoppers save more at the checkout aisle.
The Oklahoma Senate Business and Commerce Committee passed Senate Bill 1866 on Monday. Self-checkout of wine, beer and spirit-related beverages would be outlawed in the state in the hopes of stopping the theft of those items by those not yet of legal age to drink.
A man allegedly flashed a gun at Schnucks employee who confronted him about the chain's new self-checkout policy earlier this week, leading to his arrest.
