COIMBATORE: Forest department personnel in the Anamalai Tiger Reserve (ATR) rescued an elephant calf that was abandoned by its mother near Pannimedu e.
A male elephant calf, estimated to be around 1.5 years old, was found dead in a shola forest patch in the Pachamalai estate region of Valparai forest range. Forest veterinarian confirmed that the calf had died due to digestive issues.
