The Arizona GymCats just lost an impressive senior class that included stalwarts like Malia Hargrove, Caroline Herry, Jessica Castles, and Elena Deets. That doesn’t mean there aren’t things to look.
The Arizona GymCats opened with their highest season-opening score ever in last week's Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad meet in Utah. They improved on that 196.475 in their home opener.
The Arizona GymCats were coming off a high. The team had been improving their scores as a team and as individuals almost on a weekly basis. Elizabeth LaRusso and Malia Hargrove had both won weekly.
Arizona gymnastics has not been a strong vaulting team the last several years. It might be time to put that to rest, though, as the GymCats scored a 49 or better in their third straight meet on.
