The decision to postpone the conduct of barangay elections for 2022 will be up to the next administration, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said Friday.
Presumptive president Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. had a discussion with Chinese President Xi Jinping about bilateral ties and regional development, the Chinese Embassy in Manila said Wednesday.
“The glory does not belong solely to the winners of the elections. It also belongs to the voters who stood patiently in line to cast their votes in an election with one of the highest voter turnouts in recent history,” Pangarungan said. The 83% voter turnout in Eleksyon 2022 surpassed the 81.95% rate during the 2016 presidential elections.
There were no recorded incidents of election-related violence against members of the media during the 2022 national and local elections, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.
