The Bescom soon began covering junction boxes of street lights at some important locations in the city. However, the residents and pedestrians want the Bescom authorities to fix the problem on a permanent basis instead of what seems to be a knee-jerk reaction.
On Friday, Bescom employees, holding placards, took out awareness rallies at all its subdivisions across the city. Though it is not clear whether the Bescom had taken permission from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), banners had been put up at important locations in the city appealing the public to inform them about short circuits and broken electrical wires by contacting the helpline 1912.
