The name and opening seas0n of Electric Works’ highly-touted public market in Fort Wayne were revealed early Thursday morning.
Union Street Market a tribute to “the earliest days of the General Electric campus” is slated to open in fall 2022. 20-plus merchants, which already includes Joseph Decuis and Conjure Coffee, will be open daily and also serve as the permanent home of the Fort Wayne’s Farmers Market.
The mission of Union Street Market is to highlight “a range of regionally sourced foods and beverages in a historic setting,” and to support local farmers and producers while enhancing community wellness.
Electric Works second phase will focus on a vacant area north of the former General Electric campus.

Details have emerged about Electric Works second phase – and they don t involve repurposing historic buildings or seeking more money from the city.
Fresh off a beating from short-seller Hindenburg Research, Lordstown Motors has unveiled two beta versions of their Endurance pickup.
The company didn’t say much about them, but noted their creation marks a “significant milestone” on the path to production.
A total of 57 beta trucks will be built and Lordstown has previously said some of them will be used for “crash, engineering and validation testing.” Others are expected to be sent to potential customers, in order to get their feedback.

Lordstown went on to say they are dedicating their efforts to begin mass production in September. It remains unclear if the company will be able to achieve this goal, but the trucks look similar to the concept that was unveiled last summer. This is notable as Hindenburg Research cited a former employee who claimed the company was making “drastic” design modifications, which would put the Endurance 3-4 years away from production.

A national company specializing in coworking spaces has entered into a partnership with the developers of Fort Wayne s Electric Works project, a Monday news release said.
Carr Workplaces has entered into an agreement with RTM Ventures – the firm that owns the former General Electric campus and is developing the site – for about 32,000 square feet of space in Building 19 of the project s west campus. Carr Workplaces manages about 30 coworking spaces nationwide, the release said.
