Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah is learnt to have verbally agreed to a proposal from the transport department to withdraw the Karnataka Electric Bike Taxi Scheme. Karnataka, officials added, is the first state to have put out an exclusive policy to promote electric bike taxis, but the government has not found the response from platforms encouraging enough.

Ola Mobility plans to deploy 10,000 electric two-wheelers in three cities in the next two months. The company will gradually expand its service across India by the end of the year. Ola announced the launch of e-bike service in Delhi and Hyderabad, following a pilot project in Bangalore. With this deployment, Ola claims to have the largest EV 2W fleet in the country. The company aims to offer affordable and sustainable commuting solutions and has already set up 200 charging stations in Bangalore.
