you have not endorsed yet. come without a proposal for a $$20.5 trillion medicare for all plan without any taxes on the middle class. do you think that plan is viable? pure a doctor i should note to viewers. as a doctor we want america s patients to have coverage and be able to see a doctor if they get sick. but we ve got the massive deficit. another 22 trillion or so dollars, i m not sure how you pay for that. and frankly i don t think you could get 218 votes in the house of represent he was let alone 60 in the senate. i would go back to strengthening the affordable care act. building off the hard fought gains we made. in california we are getting to almost full coverage. then there is still ways to get the rest of the people into the system. by staking out positions like this and again this was a position that was way out there in previous elections cycles. now two leading candidates sanders and warren are on this
russian interference somehow in our election. we need to have the facts. senator mccain is absolutely right. i believe we need an independent commission. i think what happened last week shows it s impossible for there not to be political interference in the fbi conducting this investigation. we re in a two partisan government. when you talk about russia trying to interfere in our elections cycles and lord knows what else, we need an independent investigation. did your colleague adam schiff go too far when he said this week the trump/russia evidence is more than circumstantial? don t think he did. i don t have the information he does because he s not allowed to share it with me. but i think he s one of the most steadfast, even men i know. he wouldn t say anything that didn t have truth to it. no one else has said there s any evidence. well, he went to the white house to protect him politically. no one else has said that.
now, let s be clear, president-elect trump lost the popular vote by more than 2.8 million votes. so, what he s saying here is that more than 2.8 fraudulent votes were cast. do you agree with president trump that millions of fraudulent votes were cast in the presidential election? senator fra nke n, i don t know what the president-elect meant or was thinking when he made that comment or what facts he may have had to justify his statement. i would just say that every election needs to be managed closely and we need to ensure that there is integrity in it. and i do believe we regularly have fraudulent activities occur during elections cycles. well, department of justice is tasked with protecting voting rights and prosecuting fraud. so, if millions upon millions of
candidate but pulled out a win in the end, and i think this is similar. it s kind of a wild card election. trump is bringing in reagan democrats, pulling in voters from new constituencies. blue-collar workers, factory workers. he s pulling in new voters. and he himself is a wild card candidate, one that i don t think we ve seen since barry goldwater or even before then. so this is a different cycle. i think there are intangibles that are at play in this cycle that are not at play in most other elections cycles. we ll see. it s exciting for conservatives certainly to have two conservative candidates polling at the top. okay, we ll see what happens, you re right. kayleigh mcenany and larry sabato, thank you. iraqi forces on the move just about half a mile away from the government compound in the center of the city. if the iraqi military can regain control of that city, it would be a symbolic moment in the fight against isis. barbara starr has more from the pentagon. good morning. r
when dealing with these tax-exempt groups. as we look at this, remember the time frame, 2010 through 2012. that spans two national elections cycles. martha: what we re hearing here this morning is the argument from the irs that the reason for all of this was, quote, a lack of leadership, and this idea to target these conservative groups was simply an effort after citizens united to cull through the thousands and thousands of applications that they had for tax-exempt status and that this was simply a way to be more efficient, is the argument. that argument has elicited a very vociferious response on the other side. let s listen to mr. miller s argument to that effect for a moment. i think what happened here that foolish mistakes were made by people trying to be more efficient in their workload selection. the listing described in the report, while intolerable, was a mistake and not an act of partisanship.
