Malheur County citizens are reminded they have only two weeks to file for a director position in one of the school or special districts in which they reside, according to County Clerk Gayle Trotter.
Besides boards for Malheur County schools, there is also the college board, education service district, a number of rural fire boards, cemetery boards, rural road district, health districts, the Ontario Community Library District and the Ontario Recreation District.
Filing forms are available from the districts or from the County Clerkâs office in Vale.
Filing can be done by declaration with $10 filing fee or by nominating petition to include signatures from within the district being filed for. The clerkâs office will provide the number of signatures required.

The High court has declined to hear the bail application for 36 supporters National Unity Platform (NUP) party supporters who are battling charges of illegal possession of military stores in the Army General Court Martial.

In an attempt to counter what it calls fake news , the Electoral Commission (EC) has released the declaration form from Anyang polling station in Padyere county, Nebbi district.
However, the figures on the declaration form don’t add up and contradict what is on its tally sheet. The declaration form tweeted by EC shows that 323 votes were cast at that polling station yet after totalling the votes that candidates got and the invalid votes; the figure comes to 247 votes. This gives a difference of 76 votes.
The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate, Patrick Amuriat got 6 votes, while independent candidates Nancy Kalembe and John Katumba got one vote each. National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine garnered 8 votes, Fred Mwesigye and Mugisha Muntu got 4 votes each, Henry Tumukunde got 2 votes and Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) got 198 votes.
