Wolf Blitzer looks at politics, breaking news and international stories. Historically, because a lot of our viewers will remember. When you and bob woodward were working on the watergate related stories, was president nixon as anxious publicly during your reporting as we now see this president being very anxious, deeply concerned about the Mueller Probe . First, i think what were seeing is more than anxiety on the part of donald trump. We are seeing a president who is behaving and acting unhinged. Nixon did not really publicly act unhinged, but i think we need to look at something larger. That is that in watergate, the system worked. The president of the United States did not publicly declare the press an enemy of the people and seek to undermine the First Amendment and the very legitimacy of what the press did, though he did try to make our conduct an issue, or the issue in watergate, rather than his own conduct. Can share my own personal perspective. Ive certainly received my fair sh
Wolf Blitzer looks at politics, breaking news and international stories. Investigation. Let me read between sure. I want to read the tweet. The words the president used in the statement on twitter that he released earlier this morning. This is a terrible situation. And Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this rigged witch hunt right now before it continues to stain our country any further. Bob mueller is totally conflicted and his 17 angry democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to usa. I just want to be specific what the president has said because, dana, this is the most bombastic statement hes made yet on this entire russia probe. And it comes as mueller is now engaged in the first trial thats actually started yesterday. No question. And, look, when and this goes to the heart of part of the Mueller Investigation. When a boss, or when the president , says makes a suggestion to a subordinate, is it really a suggestion . Like David Chalian was saying earlier, when

Is it risky for the president to go in there, what if the republican loses, will people be eager in washington to blame t
Coverage of national and international news, including breaking stories. The senator from maryland. Senator, good to see you. Thank you for joining us. What do you make of that quite unexpected News Conference today . It did seem Like Full Court press, agreeing with the fact there was interference, there is interference, and i wasnt as confident that we know exactly what were supposed to do about it, but it seemed like everybody in that room seemed to agree this is something we have to deal with. First, its good to be with you. Youre exactly right, it was very clear that russia interfered in our 2016 elections and it was acknowledged that it was mr. Putin, the russian government, that was behind that. They acknowledged that this campaign is continuing both in trying to influence how voters vote as well as we are concerned that they may even go into our election apparatus. No evidence that theyre doing that yet, but they are certainly exploring that. That was very clear. And they laid o
