Shanie Bourg has been appointed Registrar of Voters by the Ascension Parish Council.
She was chosen from a field of 17 candidates after a three-night interview process that ended Thursday night at the Courthouse Annex in Gonzales.
Bourg has served as Director of Election Operations for the Louisiana Secretary of State since 2009. I love elections. I m very passionate about this, and I ve been doing it for almost 18 years. There s not a whole lot I don t know about it, she said in her interview.
Bourg stressed the importance of integrity and transparency. I don t think the public knows enough about the process of our elections. I don t think they are aware that everything we do is a public meeting, she said to the council.
The original grand plan to palm Malaysia off with half a million jabs of trial Covid vaccine to at least part-settle the Abu Dhabi royal family’s dues for its participation in Najib’s 1MDB fraud appears to have driven into the sand.
Following general outrage at the proposal the Agong returned from his trumpeted trip to meet his Sandhurst buddy MBZ, the Crown Prince, in Abu Dhabi last month with nothing to announce.
Now the coup cabal are back in town for another go, this time led by foreign minister Hishamuddin Hussein, who is Najib’s cousin and a key lynchpin in the ’emergency’ minority government.

Governor Tom Wolf is announcing changes at the Department of State after it failed to advertise a proposed constitutional amendment that would extend retroactively the timeline for victims to file civil actions against their abusers. Because of the error, the process to amend the constitution must now start from the beginning, unless the General Assembly pursues this initiative through the bill process.
oligarch immediately after mcconnell personally stepped in to make sure that sanctions on that oligarch were dropped, despite his role in what happened to our election in 2016 and despite bipartisan support even from his own party for those sanctions. but don t just look back at this. look forward, right? i mean, the fbi says russia is going to do to our election in 2020 what they did in 2016. they re saying it s happening right now. no reason to expect 2020 is going to be any different. if oleg deripaska is still one of the oligarchs putin looks to to do his work around the world and given we know what he did in 2016, should we expect that deripaska is going to be involved in russia s 2020 election operations as well? you have to say the odds of that are better now than before mitch mcconnell sold off his corner of the state in this vote. after all, before mcconnell did what he did, oleg deripaska might have felt a little worried about participating in any russian attack on us in 2020
