DMK gets 93% funds from electoral bonds, others rely on trusts

NEW DELHI: Almost 95% of election funds gathered by Tamil Nadu’s Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in 2019-20 had come from electoral bonds the new mode of political funding which is under question in the Supreme Court.
As per the contribution data submitted by the MK Stalin-led DMK to the Election Commission of India, the party collected a total of Rs 48.3 crore in the 2019-20 financial year. Of this, Rs 45.5 crore came through electoral bonds, it said.
