Man suffers major injuries after four-vehicle crash in Indian Wells
A man has been rushed to the hospital with major injuries after a four-vehicle crash in Indian Wells Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened in the area of Fred Waring Drive and Eldorado Drive at approximately 2:58 p.m.
Sgt. Deonna Pecoraro of the Riverside County Sheriff Department told News Channel 3 that deputies learned that one vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed collided into three vehicles that were stopped at the red light.
One person was extricated from their vehicle and taken to the hospital via ground ambulance, Cal Fire confirmed. Pecoraro said no other injuries were reported.
Cars catch fire after collision on Highway 111 in Indian Wells
The eastbound lanes of Highway 111 have been shut down from Miles Avenue to Eldorado Drive following a multiple vehicle crash with a fire.
Viewer video shows the aftermath of the crash, showing a person checking their vehicle as the fire continues to burn in front of the vehicle.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff s Department, no one was inside the vehicle when it caught on fire. We were also told that there were no major injuries in the crash.
There is currently no ETA as to when the eastbound side of Highway 111 will be back open.
