Mallori Edwards had a second-place finish to lead the Eldon Lady Mustangs in the Class 1 District 3 Tournament held Friday and Saturday at Nevada High School.
Scoring by threes adds up a lot faster than scoring by twos. The Eldon Lady Mustangs won’t shy away from shooting 3-pointers, and Thursday night, they fired away from long range with success. Eldon knocked down 10 3s, using the long ball to counter the inside presence of the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons for a 64-54 Tri-County Conference victory at Blair Oaks High School.
The California Lady Pintos came into the Moberly Shootout on Saturday looking to get back in the win column after losing four of their last five games. Their opponent at the shootout were the Northeast (Cairo) Lady Bearcats (8-1), who were led by the trio of forward Macie Harman, guard Olivia Cross and guard Avery Brumley.
After winning their first two games of the season, California Lady Pintos basketball participated in their first tournament of the season last week in Tipton.
