San Marcos boys volleyball coach Roger Kuntz pointed out that his team is at the same stage it was last season when the COVID-19 pandemic forced all sports activity to shut down.
“This year we’ve started out at 2-0,” he said at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon at The Creekside Restaurant. “Last year we started out 2-0, and that’s how we ended because that’s all we got.”

Santa Barbara coach Elayne Blessing said the Dons stayed positive despite the loss. We played all together and our small victories are what made us stay positive, she said.
