Brave Limerick teen hoping to spend Christmas at home with her family

Lauren Blackwell went to Colaiste Mhuire, Askeaton, as normal on Monday, October 19.
The 15-year-old fainted. That evening she was in University Hospital Limerick and the next day in Crumlin Children’s Hospital being treated for a rare type of leukemia. There was 75% leukemia in her system.
On the following Friday, Lauren went for surgery to have a Hickman line put in, a lumbar puncture, bone marrow taken and had chemo put into her spine.

The mementos are available to purchase through their charity partners TRI equestrian – www.triequestrian.ie or in their stores at the Curragh or the Meadows Equestrian Centre in Lurgan.
The calendars are €15 and a pack of 10 Christmas cards are €12. All proceeds from sales will go directly to the charity. Calendars and cards are also available to purchase from the Irish Injured Jockeys office on 045 533011.
