Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra spoke with UnidosUS Vice President for Health, Rita Carreón, about the UnidosUS
“Esperanza Hope for All” mobile educational tour to bring information about COVID-19 vaccines directly into Hispanic neighborhoods across the country. UnidosUS is the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy nonprofit organization in the United States, formerly the National Council of La Raza.
The tour started in Houston, TX; then on to Dallas/Ft.Worth, TX; Rio Grande Valley, TX; El Paso, TX; Socorro, NM; Phoenix, AZ; Yuma, AZ/Coachella Valley, CA; and Fresno/Stockton, CA. Every weekend, from now until May 23rd, bilingual volunteers will be in El Paso/Socorro providing information about the available vaccines so people in the Latino community can make an informed decision about getting vaccinated.
