7,000+ doses invalid or wasted at vaccine clinic in Colorado By: CNN

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KRDO) State health officials are urging thousands of Coloradans to get revaccinated after getting doses at Dr. Moma s Health & Wellness Center in Colorado Springs.
The revaccination effort comes after the Colorado Department of Health and Environment investigated Dr. Moma Health and Wellness Clinic after the Joint Vaccine Task Force was alerted of irregularities in vaccine storage and handling.
A total of 3,933 vaccines were adminstered at the location before the clinic was shut down last Friday. CDPHE confirms an additional 3,150 confiscated doses were also thrown out. Those figures show that more than 7,000 doses from Dr. Moma s were either invalid or wasted.
El Paso County getting nearly 13k vaccines next week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) The El Paso County Department of Public Health says the state will deliver 12,900 doses of COVID-19 vaccine next week to the county.
It s about double the doses the county has received per week on average, according to the local health department.
EPC Public Health says the doses will go directly to five providers to distribute to people over the age of 70. Those providers include UCHealth, Safeway, Centura, Optum/Mountain View Medical, and Peak Vista Community Health Centers.
“It is vital to our efforts to get more supplies from the state. CDPHE makes the decisions on vaccine distribution. We appreciate CDPHE for recognizing the need for more vaccines in El Paso County. El Paso County ‘at a disadvantage’ in vaccination distribution
According to El Paso County Public Health, 50,701 total doses of COVID-19 vaccine had been administered as of February 1. Of that total, 17,857 people over the age of 70 had received at least one dose and 2,431 people completed the vaccination series. State data shows that in the same time period, 613,294 doses had been administered across the state, but a county-by-county breakdown isn t currently available.
El Paso County is the second-most populated county in Colorado and accounts for 12.4% of the state s population, but only about 8.2% of the total vaccines distributed in the state have gone to the Colorado Springs area, according to data provided by the state.
Gov. Polis gives update on state’s response to COVID-19
COLORADO (KRDO) Colorado Gov. Jared Polis gave an update Tuesday on the state s ongoing response to COVID-19 as local health departments aim to vaccinate people over the age of 70.
Governor Polis announced a new COVID-19 dial that ll move many counties to Level Yellow and fifty percent capacity starting Saturday morning at 9 a.m., including El Paso and Teller counties.
The new dial will move Pueblo County all the way from Level Orange to Level Blue. Pueblo County will also be at fifty percent capacity, but with a higher total number of people allowed inside businesses.
