The youths are currently protesting in parts of Akwa Ibom State, blocking major roads and halting vehicular movement.
According to News Express, the area which is the major road linking Ikono in Uyo Local Government Area, and Abak, has completely been taken over by the protesting youths.
According to a source, the governor, Udom Emmanuel, has built a new flyover at a junction on the road at a point known as Ekom Iman. During the construction of the flyover, there was a vehicular diversion to another road leading to Abak and other local government areas on that axis.

A former governorship aspirant in Akwa Ibom State, Dr Udoma Bob Ekarika, has warned Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio to watch his utterances which he noted has recently become irresponsible, inflammation and diversionary, warning Akpabio not to mistake Governor Udom Emmanuel’s simplicity and humility for weakness.

The Ikot Obio Inyang community in the Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has denounced its village head, Emem Akpan, over allegations of fraud and other criminal activities.
The community, under the auspices of Ikot Obio Inyang Development Association, stripped Akpan of his title and resolved to hand him over to the police to face prosecution.
In a 14-point resolution by the association, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent in Uyo on Wednesday, the community accused the village head of vandalising the water scheme provided by the Niger Delta Development Commission.

The village head of Ikot Obio Inyang in Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state, Chief Emem Okon Akpan, has been dethroned over alleged fraud and other criminal activities in the community.
Akpan was accused by his community of sabotaging the water scheme provided by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in their area.
This is contained in a 14-point resolution signed by Enefiok Umoh the President of Ikot Obio Inyang Development Association, IKODA, 89 other members of the community and made available to newsmen in Uyo.
