Having sponsored no fewer than 900,000 smallholder farmers in rice production across the federation to benefit from CBN’S intervention fund under the Anchor Borrowers Programme, Unity Bank Plc has partnered the launching of Ekiti Rice Pyramid Project in South West Nigeria held recently.
The launch is a follow-up to the unveiling of Rice Pyramid earlier in the year at Kebbi State, for the North West and Gombe State in the North East.
Over 278 metric tonnes of rice paddy were on display at the event attended by several stakeholders in the rice production value chain including the Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi and CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele.

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Thursday at the virtual National Economic Council meeting chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, disagreed over the repayment of the budget support facilities obtained by the states.
Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, in a statement, said the NGF, through its chairman and Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, requested that the loan repayment, due in May, be deferred.
The president in the message which he personally signed called for unity and solidarity among all citizens particularly at a time when the country was faced with multiple challenges.
Death not COVID-19 related, says RCCG
The third son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Dare Adeboye, is dead. Dare, who was described by his father, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, as a miracle child, is the Pastor in Charge of the RCCG, City of David for Young Adults and Youths, Akurudum, Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
The late pastor was part of the entourage that welcomed his father two Sundays ago to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, when he (father) came for a special ministration in the state.
One of the Assistant Pastors in the state who confirmed Dare’s death, told The Guardian that Pastor Dare died in Abuja where he went for an official ministration. A reliable source said Dare was hale and hearty until his death.
