Earlier on Wednesday, there was confusion on the school premises as one of the students was seen being carried out of a building.
Confirming the development in a statement on Wednesday, the Ekiti ministry of health said about 100 students were affected, but some of them were later discharged after receiving treatment.
The state also disclosed that the incident was the result of a fumigation exercise carried out in the school.

“Today, we received information that a number of students from the Ekiti State College of Health Technology, Ijero, were hospitalised at State Specialist Hospital Ijero, as a result of an ill-timed fumigation exercise,” the statement reads.

A fumigation process that was undertaken by College of Health Sciences and Technology in Nigeri, Ijero Ekiti State has left about 100 students hospitalized after purportedly inhaling the chemicals used for the exercise.
Confirming the recent developments, the Ekiti Health Ministry said that 100 students were hospitalized on Wednesday May 26 but some of them were released after receiving treatment.
In the worst case, two students were transferred to Afe Babalola Multi-System Hospital in Ado Ekiti and the Federal Medical Centre in Ido âfor further treatment and observationâ.
The statement read;
Today, we received information that a number of students from the Ekiti State College of Health Technology Ijero were hospitalised at State Specialist Hospital Ijero, as a result of an ill-timed fumigation exercise.
