Mint Cannabis to open three more dispensaries, cultivation center in Michigan

KALAMAZOO, MI Just six months after introducing The Mint Cannabis Co. in Kalamazoo last October, co-owner Joey Kejbou is excited to announce three more dispensaries coming to the state.
Located not far from the East Cork Street dispensary in Kalamazoo, the company’s flagship store-to-be will be a 5,300 sq. ft. facility set to open in late summer/early fall at 5747 S. Westnedge Ave. in Portage.
In spite of some good news on the legalization front, cannabis stocks traded down this week, largely driven by lackluster earnings reports out of big Canadian companies.
On Monday, New Mexico became the latest state to legalize adult-use cannabis, after Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed the Cannabis Regulation Act. Sales are expected to begin before April 2022.
Following a legalization wave led by New York and Virginia, this approval puts more than 43% of Americans living in legal cannabis jurisdictions, according to The Marijuana Policy Project.
Switzerland will officially launch a trial version of a legal recreational cannabis market on May 15. The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health noted that the trial aims to offer “a scientific basis for the future regulation of cannabis.”

Connecticut-based cannabis logistics investor NewLake
Capital Partners has acquired two new industrial facilities and signed a NNN
lease deal with medical marijuana dispenser, The Mint.
NewLake has acquired a 40,000 s/f industrial property in
Palmer, Massachusetts, which The Mint, a multi-state cannabis operator based in
Tempe, Arizona, will operate a as a licensed cultivation and processing
facility.
NewLake and The Mint have also entered into a definitive agreement to purchase a property in Phoenix, Arizona for the build-out of a 125,000 s/f cultivation and processing facility. The deal is subject to final municipal approvals and is expected to close within the next 90 days.
