Elite international and Israeli athletes, along with those who like to pound the pavement, speed past Jerusalem’s historic sites, many of them to raise money for nonprofits.
“We want to teach others about aphasia, to teach them how to be more inclusive,” Leora Ashman explained. Ultimately, their goal is nothing less than, “To make aphasia a buzzword.”
June is Aphasia Awareness month and the Koach Eitan Initiative is trying to get more people to know what aphasia means and how to communicate better with someone who is challenged with it.
