Mayo County Council has granted planning permission to an aviation company for the construction of a new aircraft hangar at Ireland West Airport Knock.
Eirtrade Aviation Ireland Ltd has been operating from an existing hangar facility at the airport for the past 10 years, and is seeking to expand the scale and scope of its services.
Last December, the company submitted a planning application for the development at Knock Airport Business Park.
This will consist of the construction of an aircraft hangar, adjacent aircraft storage area, a new vehicular access road and parking.

An aviation company has applied to Mayo County Council for planning permission to construct a new aircraft hangar at Ireland West Airport Knock, which could create up to 100 jobs.
Eirtrade Aviation Ireland Ltd have been operating from an existing hangar facility at the airport for the past 10 years, and are seeking to expand the scale and scope of their services.
The company is involved in the aircraft disassembly business, and also has a facility in Rathcoole in Dublin.
It provides specialist End-of-Life Engine and Aircraft solution services for some of the world s leading airlines and leasing companies.
