Bus driver guilty of murdering student
A FORMER long-distance bus driver, Victor Elia was this afternoon found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend after she decided to end their relationship in 2017.
Judge Eileen Rakow found that Elia (39) fatally assaulted 25-year-old Iyaloo Hainghumbi before dumping her body on the B1 road to Okahandja.
Hainghumbi, who was a student at the International University of Management, was hit multiple times with an unknown object to her head. A post mortem report indicated that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to her head. Her skull, according to the report, was fractured.
The Judge also found that the state had proven beyond reasonable doubt that Elia was the person responsible for the gruesome murder.
