LAHORE: PTI unopposed Senator Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry and other MPAs called on Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar here Thursday.
The chief minister congratulated the newly-elected senators of PTI and its ally party the PML-Q and expressed best wishes for them. He said through a successful strategy in Punjab, senators have been elected unopposed and the attempts of horse-trading have failed, adding that transparency won in Punjab and those who were offering ‘bids’ remained disappointed. He said the PTI government has upheld the cause of democratic traditions in Punjab and termed the unopposed election of PTI and PML-Q candidates a welcoming sign. He said opposition remained unsuccessful in the past and will see the same fate till 2023. NANKANA SAHIB: The Sikh community on Sunday organised a ceremony in connection with Saka Nankana Sahib at the Gurdwara Janamasthan here.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Anti-Narcotics Ijaz Shah said that the minorities had complete religious freedom in the country and they could enjoy their religious festivities and festivals.
He said that the Baba Guru Nanak International University would be completed soon. He said that everybody should learn the history of his religion.
He said that the Sikh community was a peaceful and disciplined nation.
He condemned the Indian government for now allowing the Indian Sikhs to visit Pakistan to participate in the festivities of 100th anniversary of Saka Nankana.

Gurunanak University to bring educational revolution: Ijaz Shah
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Anti-Narcotics Ijaz Ahmad Shah said that establishment of Baba Guru Nanak University at Nankana Sahib would bring an educational revolution in the region.
Addressing the central ceremony of 100-year celebrations of Sikh Religious festival Saka at Nanakana Sahib,he said the construction work of the university would soon be completed while vice chancellor of the university had already been appointed.
He said that separate departments for Punjabi and Khalisapan would be made in the university, adding that no donation was being taken on the name of University from anyone and all funds would be spent by the Pakistan government for the university.
