Ehsaas touched lives of 50% Pakistanis in 2020

Islamabad : Since the launch of Ehsaas as an umbrella programme on March 27, 2019 by the Prime Minister Imran Khan, many transformative initiatives and policy reforms have effectively been implemented nationwide. Some of the Ehsaas’ early wins across various sectors include: Kafaalat, Emergency Cash, Undergraduate Scholarship, Nashonuma, Langars, Interest Free Loans, Amdan and several others.
Looking back at 2020, Ehsaas touched the lives of half the country’s population amid the COVID-19 crises. Mitigating the pandemic’s socioeconomic damage, the government launched the Ehsaas Emergency Cash programme that has been widely acknowledged and showcased worldwide. Rolled out within ten days after lockdown began, it delivered one-time cash grants to 14.8 million deserving households (100 million people) with disbursements reaching Rs179 billion.
Ehsaas becomes a global model for reducing poverty

Islamabad : An independent report published by Delivery Associates says that Ehsaas programme, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s flagship poverty alleviation initiative represents a shift from the politics of patronage to politics of performance.
In a press conference jointly hosted by Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB) on Thursday, Chairman and Founder of Delivery Associates Sir Michael Barber connected virtually from UK to unveil the Ehsaas report together with SAPM Dr. Sania Nishtar and Federal Minister for MOIB, Shibli Faraz. Sir Michael Barber is one of the world s leading education reformers, and from 2001 to 2005 was Chief Advisor on Delivery to Prime Minister Tony Blair.
