The Wanda Diamond League returned China for the first time in four years today as a beautiful new $1.2 billion Egret Stadium in Xiamen hosted its first athletics meeting. On the track, the sprint times were super fast as Hansle Parchment (12.96) came from behind to upset Grant Holloway in the hurdles and Christian Coleman (9.83 WL) spoiled the grudge match between Fred Kerley and Marcell Jacobs, who raced each other for the first time since the 2021 Olympics. In a thrilling men's 800, Emmanuel Wanyoni (1:43.20 WL) took down world champ Marco Arop. Distance wise, Freweyni Hailu (3:56.56) won the women's 1500 as Dani Jones PRd, El Bakkali (8:10.31) cruised in the steeple and Beatrice Chebet (8:24.05) cruised in the 3000 as Laura Galvan ran a big Mexican NR. Other track winners were Kirani James (44.38), Marilediy Paulino (49.36) and Rushell Clayton (53.56).
