Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on Monday resumed official duties after the expiration of his 15-day working vacation.
DAILY POST had reported that the governor on Thursday, April 1, 2021, embarked on the vacation as the first instalment of his 2021 Annual Leave.
While he was away, the Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, performed the functions of the office of the Governor.
Speaking with reporters in his office, Alagbaka, Akure, the Governor described his vacation as a refreshing time.
He said: “We have been on this task for over a year without a break. I knew I needed a break so that I could be rejuvenated. I took my time to do a few things. I had a good time.

At least five policemen who put up a fight were gunned down.
The attackers stormed the police facility at about 7p.m. and opened fire. They released suspects in custody in the police facility.
It was gathered that the armory was looted in the process.
The residents ran helter-skelter for safety while those caught up in their homes remained indoors.
Police Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the attack.
The spokesman said five officers have been killed, while one is yet to be found. Ikeokwu added that the building was not sef on fire.

NDDC sole Administrator: OPM begins peace talks with Ijaw youths

A youth group under the aegis of Oro Progressive Movement, OPM, in Akwa Ibom State, has said it is in peace talks with Ijaw youths in view of the controversy trailing the appointment of Effiong Akwa as the sole administrator of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
National President of OPM, Mr Effiong Bassey who disclosed this to newsmen weekend, said they had sent emissaries to engage the Ijaw youths in diplomatic discussions over the issue.
Bassey expressed the hope that the hostilities by some sections of Ijaw youths would soon be put to rest following the peace overtures extended to them.
