This spring, the HAM Helsinki Art Museum is set to unveil thought-provoking exhibitions in its arched halls, diving into themes of interconnectedness among all living beings and the critical role of empathy. With these new additions, HAM will be showcasing nearly 200 works from its public collection, the most extensive display of its collection at one time in the museum’s history.
Opening on May 17, the Tennis Palace will house two exhibitions reflecting on the challenges of life on Earth.
Espoo s first Family Centre has recently been opened in Espoon keskus. The new Family Centre brings under the same roof children s, youth s and family services. The City of Espoo commissioned art from EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art to the Family Centre s premises, which were under construction. The purpose of the art is to bring joy to those living and working on the premises.
Six new works of art, implemented with the Percent for Art principle, have been completed around the city of Helsinki, in various facilities used by children and young people. Five school buildings now showcase new works by Inka Bell, Karoliina Hellberg, Pertti Kukkonen, Eeva-Leena Eklund and Markus Rissanen. A new daycare centre also houses a piece by Elina Autio.
