GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A North Central Florida non-profit is getting a $1.2 million check from the state to help build a new youth shelter.
CDS Behavioral Health Services helps young people who are homeless, have behavioral health concerns, or are runaways.
The agency is building a new 20-bed shelter in Gainesville that will include counseling.
Officials are giving special thanks to state senator Keith Perry, and state representative Chuck Clemons for supporting the funding.
