Monthly IPTp with dihydroartemisinin–piperaquine did not improve pregnancy outcomes,
and the addition of a single course of azithromycin did not enhance the effect of
monthly IPTp with dihydroartemisinin–piperaquine. Trials that combine sulfadoxine–pyrimethamine
and dihydroartemisinin–piperaquine for IPTp should be considered.
