The son of working class immigrant immigrants, he developed early on a profound sense of community. A commitment to helping others. His father was a veterans, and his mother a seamstress. Ed earned a scholarship from Boden College a prestigious liberal arts college in maine, and after graduating, he relocated to the bay area where, like so many of us, he fell in love with the city that he would call home for the rest of his life. Lee passed awau early this morning at Zuckerberg San Francisco general. He was 65 years old. I want to thank dr. Susan orlick who is here with us today and the dedicated professional who is cared for the mayor last night. Our thoughts and prayers are with mayor lees wife anita and his daughters tanya and brianna at this time.
