County museum hit with graffiti

County museum hit with graffiti The Telegraph FacebookTwitterEmail EDWARDSVILLE Authorities continue to investigate vandalism Friday at the Madison County Historical Museum in Edwardsville. At 4:45 a.m. Friday Edwardsville Police were notified of multiple buildings tagged with graffiti, including the museum, the former Edwardsville Public Safety building and a local business. The graffiti tags, in part, read “BLM” to “Klan lives matter.” Edwardsville Police Maj. Michael Fillback said officers are working to find any video footage of the suspect, or suspects. He said the case will likely result in a felony because the museum is supported by the state. Since the other two buildings involved in the investigation are both privately owned, charges would depend on the cost of damage and can range from a misdemeanor to a felony.
