Philadelphia man charged in fatal overdose of Hatfield man

LANSDALE — A Philadelphia man is in jail and awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges he allegedly provided a fatal dose of heroin and fentanyl to a Hatfield man. Derrick Jackson, 58, of the 7600 block of Gilbert Street, was arraigned before District Court Judge Edward Levine on charges of drug delivery resulting in death, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and recklessly endangering another person in connection with the Sept. 30, 2020, overdose death of Jason Evans, 49, of Hatfield. Levine set Jackson’s bail at $250,000 cash, which Jackson was unable to post. Jackson remains in the county jail while awaiting his April 21 preliminary hearing on the charges.

Towamencin man faces trial on child porn charges

LANSDALE — A Towamencin Township man with a 2012 conviction for possessing child pornography must answer to new charges in Montgomery County Court for a similar crime after detectives discovered alleged child pornographic images on his cell phone. Matthew Raymond Aubin, 42, of the 1500 block of Staley Circle, was ordered to stand trial on multiple counts of possession of child pornography after he waived a preliminary hearing before District Court Judge Edward Levine. Aubin is charged in connection with alleged incidents that occurred between December and February. Aubin remains free on $50,000 cash bail while awaiting a formal arraignment hearing on the charges in county court. Aubin posted the bail through a bonding company, according to court records.
