Why start the Express Entry process in 2021? | Canada Immigration News

Canada has set out to welcome at least 401,000 immigrants annually beginning this year, with over one-quarter set to arrive through the Express Entry system. The immigration department is already starting the year off strong. On Saturday, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a historically large Express Entry draw with a historically low CRS requirement. There were 27,332 principle applicants invited, who only needed a CRS of at least 75. These candidates needed to be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in order to be invited. In addition to CEC-specific draws, IRCC has also held draws targeting candidates who received a nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). After the February 13 draw, the number of ITAs issued was more than triple what it was at the same time in 2020.

New Brunswick temporarily accepting PNP applications from labourers

you are a graduate of a New Brunswick designated post-secondary institution (DLI); and you hold a PGWP that was issued upon graduation from that New Brunswick institution. What are the eligibility criteria for the NB Skilled Worker stream? The New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream is open to foreign nationals in Canada and abroad, who have a full-time job offer in the province. The main eligibility criteria is that you intend to reside in New Brunswick. You also need to have a full time, permanent, year-round, job offer in an eligible occupation. You have to demonstrate that you are qualified for the position, and that you are offered a competitive wage. Your employer must also be willing to support the application. If you are working in a regulated occupation, you need to have the certification or license from the regulatory authority. The New Brunswick government website has more on regulated occupations as well as information on how to get certified or licensed in the province.

Canadian immigration applicants now only need to submit highest degree for ECA

Most people who apply for Canadian immigration need to submit a document verifying that their foreign degrees, diplomas, and certificates have a valid Canadian equivalent. This document is called an Educational Credential Assessment, or ECA for short. One of the providers who is certified by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to handle ECAs, WES, recently announced that immigration applicants only need to submit their highest completed credential. WES discourages clients to submit any additional credentials for assessment, as it will slow down the process. Also, ECAs are not needed for Canadian credentials. As of November 2020, those who have a PhD do not need to submit a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree to be assessed. The same goes for those who have a master’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree.
